Solar XI
Since 2010, Solar has traveled the world, collecting light fixtures from each place it visits, from household lamps to streetlights.
In 2025, Solar XI at MoCA Taipei transforms recycled tablet screens into carriers of light, exploring how modern individuals are exposed to information. We still look at the same sun, but through different vessels: the real one, the one on screens, in pixels, on social media, and within AI algorithms.
Commissioned by LuxuryLogico 豪華朗機工, I designed the video content for 301 individual 1280×800 tablets and developed a rendering system that connects all screens into one synchronized flow of visuals, a sun composed of 380 million pixels.
